While my main responsibility at Zip Corvette was product photography and retouching, my time there is what launched my career pivot into social media.

I helped transform their social media presence from just sales promos and photos of cars to a lively space with a variety of content. My approach was to tell the story of Corvette culture in Richmond, Virginia, and the Mid-Atlantic.

THE PEOPLE

Featuring Zip's loyal customers was the most rewarding part of my role. They are Corvette enthusiasts from all walks of life who take lots of pride in their 'Vettes. This was the first instance that conveyed my philosophy that shining others helps you shine as a brand.

THE PRODUCTS

As a small business that often relied on the old-school tactic of customers calling orders in from catalogs, digital promotion was the future Zip was working to move towards.

While they had a robust website filled with a menagerie of helpful products, social media was a new tool to share products that were new to the market. I sought to capture their products in an aesthetically pleasing and more modern approach, as well as find engaging ways to write about them.

REACHING BEYOND THE TRADITIONAL AUDIENCE: #CelebsInCorvettes

As part of my emerging work in content strategy, I wanted to create a series that showed folks from all walks of life enjoying their Corvettes.

This series aimed to find Corvette fans folks might not have been aware of. This selection is abridged, but other featured celebrities included: Joan Didion, Mary Lou Retton, Prince, Will.I.Am., Ming-Na Wen, Michael Jordan, and many more.

THE CARS

What would an automotive aftermarket parts distributor be without some cars on the grid?

Captured in a variety of lighting scenarios, it was SO fun to find different visual approaches to let the Corvettes have their moment in the spotlight.
