I arrived at Serve the People Community Health Center in January 2024 as their first Social Media Manager.
Little did I know that I would quickly also become their first de-facto digital designer, communications lead, photographer, and create the organizations first suite of official brand collateral.
In this collection, you'll see highlights and major milestones of my work for Serve the People, which continues to this day.
Please note: This page is still under construction. For specific work examples, please send me an email (hioliviavaldez@gmail.com). Thank you for your patience!
Rethinking Headshots
In order to capture the warmth, familiarity, and comfort we hope to convey to patients, leading with strong imagery is a must.
When the need for ID badges arose, it presented an opportunity to not only take headshots of new employees (myself included), but to refresh headshots of staff that more accurately captured their personalities.

Building the first photo library.
Building a digital media strategy without photos is a challenge, especially when your organization has many incredible service lines to talk about. One of my first big projects was creating the first photo and video library – and what a dream.
My education and previous full-time and freelance work properly equipped me to capture and share imagery that not only shares what we do, but how much passion is behind it.
Each department (Medical, Dental, Vision, Behavioral Health, Food Pantry, Outreach, and Mobile Teams) has a different approach and energy to the care they provide to patients. It's a gift to capture it each day.

Modernizing branded collateral.
Part of my task of creating the first branding suite for Serve the People was reimagining and modernizing assets. From establishing the first suite of branding, to designing signage, printed collateral, and much more, it's a gift to have my fingerprints on so many things.

Contemporary business cards that are eye catching to potential partners and patients.
